On a fantastic day of footballing action, Mayflower B won the silver medal in the Harwich Schools Girls Five-A-Side Football tournament.

They did superbly, picking up three wins and two draws to finish second in their group, the highlight of which was a fantastic hat trick in their opening game from Grace H. They then went into a semi final, which either team couldn't be separated, so it went to penalties. Incredibly, they came back from 3-0 down to win the penalty shootout, including four fantastic saves from Teigan. They gave it their all, but sadly lost in the final 1-0 to the winners St. Michaels.

League champions Mayflower A just missed out on the semi finals, but had a fantastic showing. And a huge well done to Mayflower C, who in their first ever tournament picked up a point in their group, Angel getting a last minute equaliser.

A huge thank you to all the parents, carers and staff that came out today to cheer them on - and a huge well done to the girls once again for their efforts.
