Sailing Trip

06.07.2026
On Monday and Tuesday, with Mrs Powell and Mrs Bartholomew, our Year 6 students set off on a brilliant sailing adventure with the Cirdan Sailing Trust, stepping on board a piece of history named Duet, a beautiful 1912 Edwardian Yawl. We couldn't have asked for better weather, as the sun was out and the sailing conditions were absolutely perfect. The children were a credit to the school, showing impeccable behaviour and a fantastic attitude from start to finish.
Our crew hosts, Matt and Jarvis, were absolutely wonderful. They looked after everyone so well and were full of amazing knowledge about the ship and the sea, making the whole experience both safe and incredibly interesting for the group.
The children had the most amazing time on the water. Some of their favourite moments included chilling out in the net at the very front of the boat, dangling their feet right above the splashing waves, and looking back to see what the land looks like from out at sea and learning how to unfold then re fold the sails. It was a fantastic trip full of great memories, teamwork, and smiling faces.
