Welcome back!


Our topic this term is Scandinavia and Anglo-Saxons 



In History we will be learning:


  • why the Anglo-Saxons settled in England 
  • what daily life was like
  • find out about key Anglo-Saxon artefacts
  • Gods and goddesses 
  • converting to Christianity



In geography we will be learning: 


  • which countries make up Scandinavia
  • use maps to locate the countries
  • find out about human features of the landscape
  • identify similarities and differences between Scandinavia and the U.K.
  • plan a visit to a Scandinavian country




We are learning to write effective sentences for a dramatic story.  We will be including adverbial phrases, personification, rhetorical questions, similes and alliteration.




In line with the homework,  please ensure that you hear your child read at least four times a week and record it in their reading journal.  In year three, the focus is comprehension, ensuring that the children understand what they are reading using inference skills and prediction.
